1. Roster.

A. Each active roster shall consist of six players chosen from around the NFL. The breakdown of the roster shall be:

1 Quarterback
2 Running backs
2 Receivers
1 Placekicker

(Later amended to choice of two running backs and two receivers or three receivers and one running back. See 1F.)

B. Quarterbacks cannot be from the same NFL team as the receivers and running backs, so not to run up the score on one play (1983 Hudomiet amendment). Later amended to Quarterbacks can be from the same NFL team as the running backs, but a passing touchdown from said quarterback to said NFL teammate counts only for 7 points, not 14.

C. In addition, each team will have three members in reserve for injury or trading purposes. The team that chooses these players has the rights to them and these rights can only be given up through trade or outright release. These players will only be assigned teams in these manners after the original draft of the year.

D. Rosters shall only have six members and three reserves. If an owner trades for more than this number, nine, he must trade or release a player to the nine-limit number. Likewise, if he is short a player, he may trade or pick up a player to reach the nine-player limit. Deadlines for all roster changes is 6 p.m. (later amended, see F,1a) the day before the NFL week starts. Other additions can only be made with league approval.

(1983 revision)

E. Change Deadlines

1. All roster changes, trades, or other deals must be made through the Executive Council by no later than 6 p.m. the day before the first game of the NFL that week to go into effect.
(1985 revision)
1a. All roster changes, trades, or other deals must be made by no later than noon of the Sunday on which most of the NFL games will be played that week.
2.. Thursday rule: If there is a NFL game slated for any day other than the regular NFL week (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) then those owners who have players involved in that game can only make changes concerning these players by game time of the day of this NFL game. Changes for the remaining games of the regular week will remain the same, either Friday or Saturday, depending on the schedule.
(1996 revision)

F. Soriano Roster Change

Rosters will have six starters. Besides starting a quarterback and kicker, DNFL teams will have the option to start either two running backs and two receivers or one running back and three receivers, but not three running backs and one receiver.

2. Scoring.

A. Scoring will be determined by what those NFL players do at their games. Scoring shall only happen if and how much the NFL players score during their game. Scoring breakdown:

Quarterback runs or passes for a touchdown, 7 points
Running backs run or catch for a touchdown pass, 7 points
Receiver runs for or catches a touchdown pass, 7 points

Placekicker kicks an extra point, 1 point
Placekicker kicks a field goal, 3 points

B. Miscellaneous scoring

1. Any active player scores on a kick-off or punt return, 7 points
2. Any active player scores on a blocked kick or punt, 7 points
3. Any active player is credited with a safety, 2 points
4. Running back or receiver throws a touchdown pass, 7 points.

In any case, if the NFL credits the player with the scoring, then it goes.

(1994 revisions)
C. Two-point conversion
A two-point conversion scored in an NFL game also counts in the DNFL, with the player who threw the pass (if there was one) being credited with two points, and the player who scored being credited with two points.

D. Lateral
A lateral is considered a handoff and not a pass. Therefore, when a play includes a lateral, the quarterback who threw the original pass (if there was one) gets credited for a score, the player who scores gets credited for a score, but any player in between who threw a lateral does not get credited for a score.
