Steve "Hudo" Hudomiet

Steve "Hudo" Hudomiet was the first DNFL owner to leave the league and return later. Steve had one of the original eight teams, the Canton Bulldogs, from 1978 to 1998. Hudo's Bulldogs were one of the league's early powerhouses, making the playoffs four out of six years from 1979 to 1984, and going to the DNFL Bowl three times during Hudo's ownership, but unfortunately never winning the championship.

After being out of the league for four years, Steve returned to take over the Wausaukee Bowls at the request of the late Commissioner Len Tomaszewski in 2002. In 2010, the DNFL sadly accepted his resignation of the GM position, as he became the first owner to leave the DNFL twice.

Hudo was part of the 2005 White Sox Best Argument group, and has earned Executive of the Year, the Jim Johnston Memorial Wang Award, Nonowner of the Year, and the Why He Keeps Doing it Award. The Owner of the Year award is named for him.

He was voted into the DNFL Hall of Fame in 1999, and again in 2007 for missing the draft because he had to drive his mother‑in‑law to the store. He was voted into the Hall of Fame for a third time in 2010 for his stewardship of the Wausaukee franchise from 2002 through 2009.
