Bill Bike

Bill Bike is one of only three owners who has owned his team continuously since 1978 and never moved it. His Decatur Staleys won the DNFL championship in 1981 in DNFL Bowl III after he and opponent Mark Kelly of the Bellwood Lemmings discussed their lineups at Double J's apartment the night before, but then did not win again for 25 years until finally garnering championships again in 2006 and 2007.

He and Len Tomaszewski were the inaugural inductees in the DNFL Hall of Fame in 1990, Len for all the work he did as commissioner and Bill for regularly photocopying and mailing the DNFL Report before the days of e-mail.

Before Len passed away in 2003, he left instructions that Bill and Mike Soriano were to be co-commissioners after Len, and Bill and Mike have continued in that role since then. Their work as co-commissioners in their first year was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.

Bill was responsible for compiling in one place the DNFL Rules and the year-by-year team histories from the various notebooks in which Len had kept meticulous records since 1978.
