Bob Alcantara

Bob Alcantara is owner of the Hermitage Hurricanes, one of only three DNFL franchises to operate continuously in the same city by the same owner since the league's origin in 1978.

Hermitage was the first DNFL team to go 0-14, in 1981, but then only two years later won the DNFL Bowl, in 1983. Hermitage under Bob has the third-best record of all DNFL teams in the DNFL Bowl at 3-2.

Bob was the leader of the movement to throw Mark Kelly out of the league for Kelly's lack of paying attention to his team in the late 1980s.

Bob is in the Hall of Fame for his drafting, and for driving Mark Valentino's car from Mark's wedding, with Mike Valentino in the car, and a "just married" sign on the car.

He was part of the group that received the Best Argument Award over Cub fans rooting for the 2005 White Sox; he also has received the Decision of the Year Award as well as the Goof of the Year Award, the Hey, Who Put the Nickel in Him? Award, the Best Non-Move of the Year Award, and the Owner of the Year designation.

His rivalries with John Perkins of Rock Spring and Dan Green of Canton/Sunnydale are particularly intense. After 29 years in the league, Sunnydale and Hermitage had the same amount of wins, the same amount of conference losses, and the same amount of points. Losses, ties, and conference records were only one game different:
